UC Delay® is a citric acid-based retarder which effectively delays the hydration of Ultimax® Cement concrete. It provides increased working time, and a more plastic and flowable concrete.
Provides easier handling and finishing.
Eliminates cold-joints between subsequent placements.
Allows time for mixing and placing via ready-mix trucks.
UC Delay® is dispensed into any part of the concrete materials, before coming into contact with the cement. The typical dosage is from 1/4 to 2.0%, by weight of cement. Each 1/4% will retard the set time 10 minutes, at 70 F. However, depending upon the aggregate source, some differences could occur in the setting delay time. It is, therefore, recommended to conduct a mix-design lab test, in order to verify the actual time for each specific aggregate source.
UC Delay® is used when additional time is needed to mix, place and finish Ultimax® Cement, concrete, plaster or grout.
